Branch for Early Developmental Support

The Community Service Center Mali dom, within the Early Developmental Support Branch, located at Avenija Dubrovnik 15, Zagreb, Zagreb Fair, Pavilion 34, provides professional assessment and counseling services, as well as early developmental support services.

Assessment and counseling services are available for: newborns and all children with identified developmental delays, children with chronic illnesses, syndromes, and conditions that may affect developmental outcomes, as well as children and parents who have concerns about the child’s development. The professional assessment service is accessed through a referral issued by the competent regional office of the Croatian Institute for Social Work, in accordance with the Social Welfare Act, or through parental co-payment for the service.

The early developmental support service is provided to children from birth to 3 years of age and their families, according to defined criteria that include: neurodevelopmental risk factors, sensory impairments, developmental delays, postnatal trauma, malformation syndromes, social and family factors, and other factors that represent a risk for the development of multiple disabilities in the child. The social service of early developmental support may continue beyond the age of 3 in exceptional cases, in accordance with the Social Welfare Act and the user’s Individual Educational Plan.
