On May 10, 2017, the Small Home - Zagreb in cooperation with the Faculty of Law - the Social Work Department, supported by the City Office for Social Welfare and Persons with Disabilities, organized a professional meeting entitled "Role of Social Workers in the Early Intervention Team - Challenges and Opportunities". The meeting was attended by 60 participants mostly social workers, but also other early intervention experts and / or interested in the topic. The main aim of the meeting was to problematize the role of social work and social workers in early intervention teams and to raise awareness of the importance and role of each member of the team as well as to encourage cross-sectoral and intra-sectoral co-operation between early community service providers and social workers and other staff experts in the Centers For social welfare.
On behalf of the City of Zagreb, the round table was attended by a representative of the City Office for Social Protection and Disabled People Mrs. Sandra Čirkinagić, and on behalf of the Gender Equality Ombudsperson, Mrs. Vesna Mužina.
The expert meeting included the following topics: Presentation of early intervention models through international legislation and practice, Early intervention of parents of children with developmental difficulties - User perspective, Role of social worker in the early intervention team - Early intervention of the "Mali dom - Zagreb" and the experience of Early Intervention Service Providers.
